What keeps Batwoman together when she reverts back to Kate Kane, and even while she's still in Bat gear, is the powerful bond she has with her father, the Colonel. Ah, and then Batwoman thinks she's gotten the better of Alice only to receive a sharp cut to the face from a razor blade that Alice had hidden in her mouth! She searches and kicks butt until finally she finds her answer in a bright confection of white madness, her Joker-like nemesis, Alice.Īnd what a stylish villain Alice is with her unique application of lipstick: a red squared off mark on her lower lip, her regal white costume, her blonde bobbed hair, and her endless quoting from Lewis Carroll. We see Batwoman in her black latex outfit, her wild red mane of hair, her ruby red lipstick against pale white skin, all torn up over trying to figure out why the Religion of Crime is so obsessed with her. I love how everything takes its time to develop. Once all the hype has died down, you're left with one amazing work, one kick ass Bat story with powerful female energy.
